UL Standard And c-UL(CSA) Standard

UL

UL is abbreviation of the Underwriters Laboratories Inc., and the nonprofit organizationestablished aiming at inspection “Testing For Public Safety" for the public's safety in help of the United States fire insurance society in 1894. c-UL(CSA) Standard

The product safety attestation system of Canada is a method that The Canada standard council(SCC) admits the examination organization and the attestation organization, each category of each product. UL has received recognition from Canada standard council (SCC) as certifying bod and testing body. In addition, it is recognized officially from all states and all Territory. Therefore, the c-UL mark can be displayed in the product which has suited the standard by UL.

  1. Wiring adjustment material provided by UL758 : Recognition （Ex. AWM Style 1015/2464/2586)
  2. Electric wire provided by NFPA70(NEC)/79 : Listing (Ex. MTW/THHW/STO/TC/CM/CL2,CL3)

Both Recognition and Listing attestations are acquired. The mark of ①② is affixed in the product to acquire Recognition. The mark of ③④ is affixed in the product to acquire Listing.

NFPA70(NEC)

NFPA is abbreviation of "National Fire Protection Association". NFPA70 is said alias NEC[National Electrical Code], and is a standard published to secure safety from the viewpoint of the electricity use practicing it for humanity and equipment.

NFPA79

NFPA79 is called alias "Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery". This standard is applied to electricity and an electronic equipment of the machine that worked by the voltage of 600V or less.

However, enough consideration is not done for the dangerous range region defined by NFPA70. The purpose of this standard is protection of the life and the property in the part of electronic equipment of the machine that worked by the voltage of 600V or less.
